For the first time, Uzbek drivers successfully transported cargo on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan route.  This is reported by the press service under the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Uzbek drivers traveled 2,760 km along the Tashkent-Termez-Mazar-i-Sharif-Kabul-Peshawar-Karachi route and delivered a cargo (frozen meat) from the port of Karachi to Tashkent in one week.

According to the Ministry, transport and logistics cooperation projects with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan play an important role in expanding economic ties.

Between 26-27 March, a meeting of the tripartite working group on transport issues was held in Termez with the participation of representatives of major transport and logistics companies of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan; International Road Transport Union and customs organizations.
The meeting identified a concrete plan of action to address the problems encountered in international road transport in Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

“As a result of trilateral efforts, today this transport corridor is fully operational, and the goods are delivered to the destination in the shortest possible time and safety”, - the report says.
