20543The Ministry of Internal Affairs conveyed its condolences to the family of the citizen who allegedly died as a result of being beaten by DIA officers.
Shohrukh Giyosov, the press secretary for the Minister of Internal Affairs, stated that all available video recordings from the incident site had been collected, witness and participant statements were being reviewed, and relevant forensic examinations had been commissioned.
"Any death involving internal affairs is treated as an emergency, irrespective of the circumstances. Everyone involved's actions, including each employee's, are investigated thoroughly, fully, and objectively. On behalf of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and its staff, we extend our deep condolences to the relatives of the deceased citizen," the statement read.
For context, on June 19, the Bekobod city court charged a 33-year-old citizen, H.Yu. Investigative procedures were carried out, and the collected documents were submitted for substantive review. During the trial, the brothers of the accused, X.Yu., born in 1981, and D.Yu., born in 1978, caused a disturbance in the courtroom out of dissatisfaction with the prison sentence imposed on their brother.
To restore public order and ensure safety, regional internal affairs department officers were called to the courtroom. Three DIA prevention inspectors resolved the altercation and took the involved parties to the IIB city office to process the violation-related documents.
At the DIA office entrance, D.Yu. experienced a sudden deterioration in health and lost consciousness.
According to the General Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Tashkent region, officers transported the citizen to the city hospital in a service vehicle. Medical staff found D.Yu. deceased upon examination.
"A forensic examination has been commissioned to determine the cause of death. The situation is under the oversight of the prosecutor's office, and investigations are ongoing. Additional information will be provided following the forensic medical examination's conclusion," the HDIA statement read.
