The Mass Media Fund reacted to a situation related to the “Human” publication

As we previously reported, today, 27 January, the director of the “Human” online publication officially registered in Uzbekistan, Khurshid Daliyev, and the editor-in-chief of the site, Muslim Mirzajonov, were taken away by persons who introduced themselves as “organ employees.”  The Public Fund for Support and Development of National Mass Media reacted to the situation.

“The Public Fund for Support and Development of the National Mass Media is concerned about the situation related to the arrest of journalists of the internet publication “Human.”  We are waiting for the comments of the law-enforcement agencies on this issue and we ask for the safety of journalists, as well as legal treatment of their professional activities,’’ the official statement reads.

It should be noted that the website for “Human” publication is not working at the moment.  There has been no official comment from the law enforcement agencies.
