7797"Manchester City" manager Pep Guardiola has avoided addressing questions regarding the potential arrival of Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov.
Guardiola stated that he is not aware of the status of transfers involving Khusanov, as well as Omar Marmush and Vitor Reyes, who are reportedly close to joining the club during the winter transfer window.
"I don't know what is happening with any of these players. I don't have any specific information about whether they will come or not," Guardiola said in response to media inquiries.
Reports suggest that the delay in Husanov’s transfer is due to visa issues, which are preventing the defender from traveling to the UK. "Manchester City" is expected to make an official announcement regarding the transfer on January 17.
Football insider Fabrizio Romano also commented on the matter via his X account, assuring fans that there is no cause for concern. “There is no need to worry about the transfer; the matter will be fully concluded soon,” Romano wrote.
Uzbek sports journalist Davron Fayziyev also weighed in on the situation, offering perspective on Guardiola’s remarks.
“Guardiola was asked about Khusanov after the match, and he responded, ‘I can’t say anything, I said that yesterday.’ This is a normal answer. No, I don’t think he is unaware of Khusanov. He likely understands that discussing a player who hasn’t officially signed a contract would be inappropriate. The club’s media team is equally professional in this regard,” Fayziyev explained.
It is worth noting that on January 11, Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 20-year-old defender Abdukodir Khusanov had agreed to join "Manchester City".
