6439The "Sijjak" holiday resort, once owned by Gulnara Karimova, the eldest daughter of the First President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, has been officially transferred to the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan. The transfer, based on property rights, was formalized through a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 27, 2024.
The government initially approved a list of children’s holiday resorts and recreation areas to be transferred to the Federation of Trade Unions through a decree on March 25, 2023. On December 27, 2024, the "Sijjak" holiday resort was added to this list through an updated resolution.
The "Sijjak" holiday resort boasts a hotel, several swimming pools, an amphitheater, cottages, and other facilities. The property was previously sanctioned by the Tashkent Regional Criminal Court on February 10, 2017. It was initially planned to be transferred to the Triathlon Federation of Uzbekistan as a training base, with a draft Cabinet of Ministers resolution prepared for this purpose.
The recreation center was also listed for sale multiple times—in June 2020, April 2021, April 2022, and October 2022. However, under the presidential resolution “On the systematic organization of children's recreation and further improvement of health work,” dated June 14, 2023, the "Sijjak" resort was removed from the list of privatization objects.
