President of Finland to visit Uzbekistan

On October 30–31 this year, Finnish President Alexander Stubb will pay an official visit to Uzbekistan, according to the Finnish leader’s press service.
As part of the visit, President Stubb will meet with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent on October 31. During the talks, the sides will discuss bilateral relations between Finland and Uzbekistan, the geopolitical situation in Europe and Central Asia, Russia’s actions against Ukraine, and cooperation in supporting the multilateral system.
During his stay, President Stubb will also attend a business seminar, deliver a lecture at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and meet with foreign policy experts.
The presidential delegation will include a member of the Finnish Parliament and Chairman of the Finland–Uzbekistan Friendship Group, Ville Skinnari, as well as representatives of Finland’s trade and industry sectors.
For reference, the last Finnish president to visit Uzbekistan was Mauno Koivisto in 1992.
