6775Abbosbek Fayzullaev, the star of CSKA and one of Uzbekistan’s leading football players, has reportedly attracted interest from the Portuguese club Benfica. This information was shared by renowned football agent German Tkachenko.
Tkachenko revealed that negotiations had taken place between the player’s representatives and Benfica. However, the Lisbon club declined the transfer due to political reasons, preferring not to engage in business with Russia. “Benfica refused the transfer in the initial phase, citing their policy not to cooperate with Russia. This decision halted discussions,” said Tkachenko.
Despite the setback, Fayzullaev has garnered interest from clubs in France, Germany, Italy, and other parts of Europe.
Earlier, another Uzbek footballer, Husayn Norchaev, had received interest from Portugal’s Braga. However, issues with obtaining a visa prevented the transfer from materializing.
Previously, Turkish club Galatasaray was reported to have expressed interest in signing the 21-year-old Fayzullaev.
