Inoyatov's academic journey began at the Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute, where he graduated in 1961 with a degree in history and philology. He later pursued postgraduate studies at Samarkand State University and earned a Candidate of Historical Sciences degree in 1969 after defending his thesis at Tashkent State University.
Throughout his career, he held prominent roles, including:
- 1984–1989: Head of Department at Bukhara State Pedagogical Institute.
- 1989–1992: Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs.

Professor Inoyatov authored nearly 50 monographs, pamphlets, and textbooks, along with over 500 scientific articles. His extensive contributions to historical research earned him the Order of "Respect of the Country" in 2023, awarded by the President of Uzbekistan.
This marks a significant loss to Uzbekistan's academic and historical community, following the recent passing of Academician Temurjon Nosirov, a pioneer in power systems analysis, at the age of 83.
