Criminal case opened after child electrocuted at kindergarten in Fergana

Earlier, reports emerged that a child was electrocuted by a high-voltage current at a preschool institution in Fergana city. A criminal case has now been initiated in connection with the incident. This was announced by Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the statement, a criminal case has been opened under Article 116 of the Criminal Code (Failure to Properly Perform Professional Duties). Investigative actions are currently underway.
It should be recalled that the incident resulted in serious harm to the child’s health. The Children’s Ombudsman has launched a review to restore the child’s violated rights and ensure the protection of his or her legal interests.
