A tragic accident occurred in the Koshtepa district of Fergana region, where a man standing outside the gate of his house was struck by a car. This was reported by the Regional Traffic Safety Department.
According to the report, a 30-year-old driver lost control of his Lacetti vehicle, resulting in the car hitting a 57-year-old resident who was standing in front of his house. The victim sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 266 of the Criminal Code, which addresses violations of vehicle movement safety regulations. The investigation is currently ongoing.
This incident follows a serious traffic accident that recently occurred in the Namangan region, involving a Gentra and a truck driven by school and technical school students. A minor driver operating the Gentra lost control, crossed the concrete barrier dividing the road, and collided with a ZIL truck coming from the opposite direction. The passengers of the Gentra were admitted to the intensive care unit at the Namangan branch of the Republican Emergency Medical Research Center.
Unfortunately, the driver died before reaching the hospital, and the remaining four passengers (three aged 17 and one aged 15) are in critical condition and remain under intensive care.
