Person arrested in Fergana for planting poppy and cannabis on private plot (video)

A person was arrested in the Toshlak district of the Fergana region for cultivating 103 poppy plants and 118 cannabis plants on her private plot. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

As part of the large-scale operational-preventive operation “Black Drug 2025”, two individuals were also detained in the city of Ahangaran, Tashkent region, while attempting to sell 500 grams of opium for \$25,000. Upon searching their belongings, law enforcement officers discovered and seized an additional 585 grams of opium and 360 grams of hashish as evidence.

In another operation carried out in the Denov district of Surkhandarya region—jointly conducted by the Rapid Search Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service—four individuals were detained while selling 1 kilogram of hashish for \$20,000.

Several similar offenses were also uncovered in the Fergana region. In one case, a citizen in Toshlak district was found cultivating 103 poppy plants and 118 cannabis plants on his property. In another case in the city of Margilan, a citizen was caught growing 170 narcotic plants inside his home.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code (Illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions for the purpose of trafficking narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as their illegal distribution).

It should be noted that earlier in the city of Kokand, Fergana region, a 60-year-old citizen was also found cultivating 47 poppy plants inside his apartment.
