12480In the Fergana region, a doctor who conducted a medical examination on a citizen without consent received a reprimand,as reported by the Ombudsman.
It was reported that citizen B.N., with the cooperation of a district DIA prevention inspector and neighborhood representatives, was unlawfully admitted to Regional Psychiatric Hospital No. 2 in Qoqon City.
The regional representative of the Ombudsman met with citizen B.N., who stated that he did not sign a consent form for psychiatric examination. Despite this, he was admitted and examined for three days before being sent home, as he was found to be healthy.
The report stated, "During the investigation, it was found that the requirements of Article 24, Part 2 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan 'On Psychiatric Assistance', which mandates informed consent for psychiatric examinations, were violated."
It should be noted that earlier in Bukhara, a healthy 15-year-old girl who was staying in a psychiatric dispensary was returned home.
