In Fergana, the deputy prosecutor was apprehended for bribery

13986The deputy prosecutor of Qoshtepa district in the Fergana region was apprehended while accepting a bribe. Hayot Shamsutdinov, the spokesperson for the General Prosecutor's Office, conveyed this information to QALAMPIR.UZ.
Reportedly, on April 27th of this year at 18:30, the prosecutor's office of Fergana region, in collaboration with the State Security Service's regional department, conducted an operation.
During the operation, the deputy prosecutor of Qoshtepa district was apprehended while receiving an agreed-upon sum of 2,000 US dollars, deceitfully promising to lessen the punishment of an individual in a criminal case before the court through personal connections.
Following this incident, a criminal case was initiated under Articles 168 (Fraud) and 28,211 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and the suspect was lawfully detained. An investigation is currently in progress.
It's worth noting that earlier reports indicated the apprehension of individuals, including a tax inspector, an employee of the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau, and a lawyer, for accepting bribes during operational measures conducted in the Syrdarya, Namangan, and Jizzakh regions.
