Two suspects detained while selling opium and hashish in Uzbekistan

On April 6, law enforcement authorities in Besharik district, Fergana region, detained two suspects involved in illegal drug trafficking, according to the regional police department.

During an operation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, officers intercepted over 11 kilograms of narcotics, including opium and hashish, valued at $150,000 on the black market. The suspects were caught attempting to sell the substances for $90,000, and evidence was seized at the scene.

Currently, authorities are conducting pre-trial investigative procedures regarding the case.

Earlier, on February 16, as part of the "Tozalash" complex operation, law enforcement officials successfully dismantled another illegal drug network operating in Fergana region, following a directive from the Minister of Internal Affairs.
