14-year-old boy sentenced for stealing car in Fergana

A 14-year-old boy who stole his neighbor's car in the Fergana region has been sentenced to three years in prison on probation. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court.
The incident occurred on November 20, 2024, in the Rishton district. At around 10:00 p.m., the teenager stole a Damas vehicle belonging to his neighbor and drove it toward the Fergana Canal. While attempting to turn back, the car got stuck in the mud. The boy then abandoned the vehicle and returned home.
The case was reviewed by the Rishton District Criminal Court. The minor was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 267 of the Criminal Code (hijacking a vehicle) and sentenced to three years in prison. However, in accordance with Article 72 of the Code, the sentence was suspended and a two-year probationary period was imposed.
It should be noted that earlier, a car belonging to comedian Shukurullo Isroilov was hijacked in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent. The young perpetrator in that case was sentenced to two years in prison. Additionally, a Tajik citizen who hijacked a car while intoxicated in Termez, Surkhandarya region, was sentenced to three years and six months in prison.
