Narcotics found hidden inside potatoes in Fergana

Narcotic substances were discovered in a shipment sent from Kyrgyzstan to Fergana Region, according to the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
According to the report, a passenger vehicle entering from a neighboring country through the “Fergana” border customs post was inspected in accordance with established procedures.
During the inspection, it was revealed that two packages sent from the Sokh district to the city of Fergana contained 150 boxes of illegal medicines. The items were wrapped in clothing and concealed among food products, including potatoes.
Further examination showed that the shipment contained 6,000 units of a drug labeled “Tawon liar.”
According to authorities, the substance “Tapentadol,” classified as a narcotic, was detected in the medication.
A criminal case has been initiated by customs authorities in connection with the incident.
It is worth noting that earlier, an individual attempting to illegally sell more than 15,000 medicines was detained.
