Farmer in Fergana tried to sell 3.7 hectares of land as 7 hectares

A farmer in the Kushtepa district of Fergana region allegedly attempted to sell a 3.7-hectare plot of land by falsely presenting it as 7 hectares, according to the State Security Service.

The report said that the head of a farming enterprise engaged in agricultural production in Kushtepa district convinced a buyer that the farm’s 3.7 hectares of land amounted to 7 hectares and promised to officially register it in the buyer’s name. In return, he allegedly demanded $20,000 and 100 million soums.

During a special operation carried out jointly by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the head of the farming enterprise was stopped while receiving $15,000 of the agreed sum through a third party.

A criminal case has been opened against the suspect, and investigative actions are currently under way.

Earlier, it was reported that a market manager in Kashkadarya region had been detained for allegedly trying to formalize ownership of an undocumented shop for an entrepreneur.
