Warehouse caught stealing 1.4 billion sums worth of electricity in Fergana

A cold storage warehouse that illegally consumed 1.4 billion sums worth of electricity was discovered in the Rishton district of the Fergana region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, a pre-investigation inspection conducted by the Rishton district branch of the department revealed that the head of “T.V.” LLC, identified as S.M., had illegally connected to the electricity network. The cold storage facility, located in the “Bogiston” mahalla, was found to have tampered with the meter to use electricity for commercial purposes without proper authorization.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 169 (theft) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Investigative actions are currently underway.
It should be noted that earlier, in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region, the head of a farm was found to have illegally used electricity amounting to 4.739 billion sums.
