Hereinafter criminals will be fitted with a special electronic bracelet

In Uzbekistan, people detained and imprisoned on suspicion of committing a crime will have to wear electronic bracelets.  This is specified in the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is noted that the system of using an electronic bracelet will be introduced in order to prevent the escape of persons and convicts who are detained on suspicion of having committed a crime, and who are subject to preventive measures in the form of imprisonment.

When the persons under the convoy (suspected of committing a crime, persons under preventive detention, and prisoners) try to escape (remove the electronic bracelet, injure themselves, move away from the escort officer, and in other cases), the electronic bracelet sounds and visuals automatically transmit the message online to the attached convoy officer and to the duty units of regional internal affairs bodies, military units of the command of Guard forces, investigative detention centers, and penal colonies.

People who try to escape will be caught on the "hot trail" according to the "GPS" signals transmitted from the electronic bracelets worn by them.

By 1 December 2024, the convoy units of the Internal Affairs bodies will be fully equipped with electronic bracelets.
