Issuance of temporary disability certificates and other medical certificates in Uzbekistan will be gradually transferred to electronic form.  This is stated in the draft decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On the state program for the implementation of the development strategy of New Uzbekistan for the years 2022-2026 in the year of attention to people and quality education.”

It is noted that this practice will initially be implemented in Navoi and Syrdarya regions from 1 July 2023, in Tashkent city, Tashkent and Samarkand regions from 1 October 2023, and from 1 January 2024 in other regions of the republic.

Thus, from 1 January 2024, it will be prohibited to request medical certificates in paper form.

In addition, it is planned to gradually introduce mechanisms of state medical insurance in Tashkent starting from 1 July of this year.

By the end of 2023, coverage of disabled people in outpatient and inpatient conditions with free medical and social rehabilitation measures should reach 30 thousand people.

As a result, the number of disabled people using free medical and social rehabilitation services will increase from 15,000 to 30,000.  According to the project, up to 30 family polyclinics, 110 family medical centers, and 520 district medical centers will be established this year.

In particular, 12.6 million people between the ages of 18 and 40, 6.3 million people over 40 years of age without chronic diseases, and 3 million people with early detection of cancer will undergo preventive screening.

112 children with spinal muscular atrophy will be provided with medicines, more than 250 children with hearing loss will receive cochlear implantation (installation of a sound amplifying device), of which 132 children will be replaced with speech processors.

308.4 billion soms will be allocated for the implementation of these measures.
