The train service between Dushanbe and Tashkent is resumed after almost 30 years

Yesterday 20 June, for the first time in the last 30 years, a train service was opened from the Dushanbe railway station in the Tajikistan capital to Tashkent.  This was reported by local media outlets of Tajikistan.

It is noted that the train that left yesterday for Tashkent at 18:30pm local time and will arrive today 21 June, at 13:43pm.  The distance from Dushanbe to Tashkent is 916 kilometers, and the travel time is 21 hours.

It should be recalled that the passenger rail service between Tashkent and Dushanbe was interrupted due to the civil war in Tajikistan in the early 1990s.
