7253It was found that the pomegranate-flavored drink "Royal" sold in markets and stores in Uzbekistan does not meet the quality requirements. This was reported to QALAMPIR.UZ by the Technical Regulatory Agency of Uzbekistan.
The quality and safety of products produced and imported in the Republic of Uzbekistan are regularly studied by the inspectorate. In particular, it was examined to what extent the pomegranate juice product under the "Royal" trademark sold in markets and stalls meets the requirements of regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation.
According to the results of the study, the product labeling (marking) of pomegranate juice under the "Royal" trademark meets the requirements of clauses 8, 36, 53, and 58 of UzTR.490-022:2017 "General technical regulation on the labeling of food products and its safety," but inconsistencies were detected.
According to the conclusion of the accredited testing laboratory, it was found that the pomegranate juice product under the "Royal" trademark contains the substance "Azorubin, E 122" in excess of the specified norm.
It is noted that in accordance with clause 36 of UzTR.490-022:2017 "General technical regulations on the labeling of food products and its safety," the composition contains colorants (E122 azorubine, E yellow quinoline, FCF E110 yellow "sunset," AS E129 red charm, 4R E124 ponzo, and E102 tartrazine) which should be labeled with the warning "Contains dye(s), which may have a negative effect on the activity and attention of children."
Given the above, the inspection considers that failure to fulfill the requirements of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Technical Regulation," "On Standardization," "On Metrology," "On Protection of Consumer Rights," and regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation is a violation of the law and has issued a warning.
We remind you that earlier laboratory tests of 8 food products sold in the stores of Uzbekistan were found to be inconsistent with the current regulations.
