The State Security Service reveals that the Ministry of Culture and the companies under the supervision of the Tashkent regional administration have looted millions

During the repair works of the tomb of “Shayx Umar Vali Bog‘istoniy” in the Bustanlyk district of the Tashkent region and the tomb of “Qilichli ota” in the Kibray district, millions of soms were looted.  This is reported by the press service under the State Security Service.

It is noted that a contract worth 1.7 billion soms was signed for the repair of the “Shayx Umar Vali Bog‘istoniy” shrine in Bustanlyk district in 2020-2021, between the private enterprise "Excellent and quality construction" and the public institution "Customer service for construction, reconstruction, overhaul and maintenance of facilities financed by centralized investments" under the Ministry of Culture.

However, the state institution of customer service and the relevant officials of the private company entered inaccurate information in the invoices for the repair work and pledged the budget funds in the amount of 402.7 million soms by attributing the work not completed.

Criminal proceedings were instituted under articles 167 (appropriation or robbery) and 209 (forgery) of the Criminal Code.

In addition and in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, a contract was reached between the engineering company “Unified Customer Service” under the regional administration for the reconstruction and restoration of the shrine “Qilichli ota” in the Kibray region of Tashkent region and LLC “TOSHMELIOQURILISH”, and 309 million 107 thousand soms were allocated for the work.

However, officials of the engineering company ‘Unified Customer Service’ and LLC “TOSHMELIOQURILISH” conspired among themselves, adding inaccurate information to the invoices for construction works, and squandering 263 million 286 thousand soms from the state budget by adding the number of unfinished works.
In connection with the situation mentioned, officials of the engineering company “Unified customer service” and LLC “TOSHMELIOQURILISH” under the Tashkent regional administration were charged under Articles 167 (robbery by theft or embezzlement) and 228 (preparation of documents, stamps, seals, blanks, forgery of them, sale or use) and the preliminary actions are being taken.
