The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis has adopted, in its third reading, a draft law outlining the grounds and procedures for declaring the presence of foreign citizens and stateless persons in Uzbekistan unacceptable. This information was released by the press service of the lower chamber.

The bill, initiated by a group of deputies, proposes amendments and additions to the existing law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Uzbekistan."

The need for this legislation arises from the necessity to implement additional measures to protect Uzbekistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of globalization. The law stipulates that any person making public statements or engaging in actions that undermine the state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security of Uzbekistan, incite interstate, social, national, racial, and religious hatred, or insult the honor, dignity, or history of the Uzbek people, will be deemed unacceptable.

The draft law also suggests a five-year ban on such foreign citizens or stateless persons from entering Uzbekistan, opening bank accounts, purchasing real estate, participating in the privatization of state property, and engaging in financial and contractual relations. Additionally, it outlines the grounds and procedures for deporting individuals considered inadmissible.

During discussions, it was highlighted that the adoption of this draft law would strengthen Uzbekistan's state sovereignty, territorial integrity, and security, protect interstate, interethnic, and interreligious harmony, and ensure respect for the honor, dignity, and history of the Uzbek people.

According to the deportation procedures, a person who receives a notice of inadmissibility from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs must leave Uzbekistan voluntarily within 10 days. Failure to do so will result in their forced removal from the country.

It is noteworthy that on June 12, a group of deputies from the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis developed this draft law, utilizing their right of legislative initiative.
