Tragic accident in Denov: one person died (video)

Reports have emerged on social media that a horrific traffic accident occurred in Denov, Surkhandarya region, resulting in the deaths of three people. The regional Road Traffic Safety department has confirmed the incident.

According to the authorities, on August 27 at around 10:05 AM, a driver born in 2006 was operating a Nexia vehicle along the 24th kilometer of the 75 V 008 road in the “Qaytmas” neighborhood of Denov district. Due to inexperience and negligence, the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle ahead and entered the oncoming lane. This led to a collision with a Lacetti car driven by a person born in 1986, coming from the opposite direction.

Following the accident, the injured were taken to medical facilities. The driver of the Lacetti vehicle succumbed to their injuries in the hospital.

It was revealed that the Nexia driver responsible for the collision did not possess a valid driver’s license.

“We urge our fellow citizens not to operate vehicles without sufficient skills, and we ask drivers to avoid speeding and to strictly follow traffic rules", the report stated.

It is worth noting that earlier,  three people were reported dead as a result of two traffic accidents on the “Qamchiq” pass. The criminal cases have been initiated for both incidents under Article 266, part 2 of the Criminal Code (Violation of traffic safety rules or improper use of vehicles).
