State kindergartens to implement “Single Seasonal Meal Plan” by 2025

The government of Uzbekistan has announced plans to improve the healthy nutrition regime in state preschool educational institutions through the introduction of a "Single Seasonal Meal Plan." This initiative is outlined in the resolution titled "On Measures to Improve the Healthy Nutrition Regime in State Preschool Educational Institutions."

Key changes include the gradual transition of state kindergartens to an outsourcing feeding system. The "Single Seasonal Meal Plan" will standardize meals and ensure their quality while food costs are tracked through modules in the "Kindergarten" preschool education management information system.  

The resolution also stipulates the determination of daily feeding costs per child in each region, aligning with the new meal plan. A dedicated Center for Organizing and Monitoring Nutrition will be established to oversee the implementation of healthy nutrition practices in state preschool and general secondary educational institutions. One of the Center’s priorities will be the gradual digitization of processes related to meal organization.  

The regulation titled “On the procedure for organizing healthy nutrition in state preschool educational institutions by outsourcing”  has also been approved. Under this framework, state kindergartens must fully implement the “Single Seasonal Meal Plan” by July 1, 2025. By this deadline, contracts with private entrepreneurs will be finalized to provide high-quality, safe, and healthy meals.  

Additionally, the government plans to allocate at least 50 billion sums from the state budget to equip kindergartens with tablets and other digital tools by 2025. This technology will facilitate biometric identification to monitor the attendance of kindergarten staff and children, further digitizing the education sector.  

These reforms aim to standardize and enhance the quality of nutrition in Uzbekistan's state kindergartens, ensuring that children receive safe and healthy meals while streamlining processes through digital innovation.
