The section of the international highway M-39 Almaty-Tashkent-Termez passing through the Bulungur district of the Samarkand region has flooded. The Traffic Safety Service reports this.
Extreme precipitation and flooding in some areas are reported to have caused water to accumulate between 1,075 and 1,077 kilometers of the M-39.
It is noted that the necessary measures are being taken by the Regional Department of Emergency Situations and Traffic Safety Administration.
«We urge all drivers to be careful and strictly follow the signs of the road traffic controller », – the report says.
Earlier, Uzgidromet (Uzbekistan Hydrometeorology Department) announced the danger of floods in nine regions of the country.
It should be noted that on March 17-20 of the current year the Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to receive warm and humid air from Iran, following it – cold air mass from the Volga region. As a result, the temperature will drop sharply and heavy rainfall will occur.
