Students fight in class while the teacher uses phone in Bukhara (video)

A video circulating on social media shows students fighting during a class in one of Bukhara region's schools while the teacher is distracted, playing on their phone. The Bukhara Regional Department of Preschool and School Education has addressed the incident.  

The altercation occurred on September 14 at Specialized School No. 13 in the Shofirkon district, involving 8th-grade students and history teacher G.J.  

The footage depicts two students fighting at the back of the classroom as the teacher uses their phone. Later, the teacher intervenes and slaps one of the students.  

The department stated:  
“Disciplinary measures were taken against the teacher in accordance with the established procedure for gross violation of pedagogical requirements.”  

Earlier, a similar incident was reported in the Akkurgan district of the Tashkent region. A 34-year-old computer science teacher at Secondary School No. 6 was disciplined for physically assaulting a 9th-grade student during an extra lesson. The school administration condemned the behavior and imposed appropriate disciplinary action.
