In Bukhara, a lawyer was apprehended while accepting $100,000 as a bribe

In Bukhara, a lawyer was caught red-handed receiving $100,000 in exchange for favors facilitated through contacts within the prosecutor's office, as reported by the State Security Service.

A swift operation conducted by the Bukhara Regional Office of the State Prosecutor's Office resulted in the initiation of a criminal case against a businessperson who is also a lawyer at a Bukhara law firm, under Article 167 of the Criminal Code (embezzlement or fraud), part 3, subsection "a". The lawyer, who had connections in the prosecutor's office, was caught with tangible evidence while receiving $100,000 for providing unlawful benefits.

Additionally, in a coordinated operation involving the Jizzakh Regional Department of the State Security Service and the Jizzakh Regional Transport Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the chief specialist of the Tendering Department of the Regional Transport Department was apprehended. They were caught selling a state-provided ISUZU bus, intended for passenger transportation in the Forish district, to an individual for $6.6 thousand, despite lacking the authority to do so.

Furthermore, in a joint operation by the Tashkent Region State Department and the General Prosecutor's Office Department, an employee of the Chinoz District Government was discovered to have returned a house, designated for low-income families under a subsidized loan scheme, to the bank's ownership without informing the rightful owner. This individual was caught accepting $6,000 in exchange for falsely transferring ownership rights to another citizen and facilitating a loan.

Criminal proceedings have been initiated against these individuals under the relevant sections of the Criminal Code.

It's worth noting that previously, the former mayor of the Gulistan district in the Syrdarya region was implicated in the illegal sale of land. On February 13, Bahodir Gulomov, the prosecutor of Kogon district in the Bukhara region, was arrested by the Safety Service of the State officers while accepting a $90,000 bribe.
