The presidential election campaign starts in Uzbekistan

8569Today, starting from 10th of May, the Central Election Commission has initiated the campaign for the presidential election in Uzbekistan, scheduled to take place on the 9th of July this year. This announcement was made during the Central Election Commission's meeting, which focused on organizational matters pertaining to the preparation and execution of the early presidential election.
During the meeting, various topics were discussed, including the declaration of the election campaign and the approval of the Calendar plan for the election's preparation and execution. The Calendar plan encompasses a two-month timeframe and incorporates 51 key events across seven areas of the election process.
Specifically, political parties are required to submit their documents to the Central Election Commission by the 15th of May this year in order to participate in the election.
The period spanning from 52 days before the election (17th May) to 38 days before the election (1st June) is designated for the nomination of presidential candidates.
The submission of documents by political parties to the Central Election Commission for the registration of presidential candidates must be completed 36 days prior to the election (by 2nd June). The registration process for presidential candidates will take place at least 32 days before the election, concluding on 6th of June.
Subsequently, the registration of candidate representatives will commence on the 7th of June.
