Today, the Uzbek judoka will start participating in the World Championship

The World Judo Championship is currently being held in Qatar.  Representatives of the Uzbek team are participating in the competition.

The Uzbek team started their winning streak from day one.  Dilshodbek Baratov was the winner of the silver medal of the World Championship in the -60 kg weight category.  On the second day of the tournament, Diyora Keldiyorova, who fought in the women’s -52 kg weight category, also won a silver medal.

In the competitions on 9th May, the Uzbekistan team's winning streak continued with a bronze medal.  Murodjon Yoldoshev took his place among the winners when he beat Canadian Artur Margelidon in the -73 kg weight category, gaining the bronze medal.  

On day four of the World Championship, another Uzbek representative will enter the tatami.  Musa Sobirov will fight for the prize in the -81 kg weight category.  Jose Mendiola from Spain will compete against him in the first round.

It should be noted that the competition held in Qatar provides important rating points for athletes on the way to the Paris-2024 Olympics.  Debates will continue until 13th May.
