2-year-old boy hangs from bed in kindergarten and dies (video)

A 2-year-old boy died after hanging from a bed in a private kindergarten in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, the country’s Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident occurred on May 19 at approximately 1:05 p.m. local time. According to officials, a 29-year-old woman working as a teacher at the kindergarten negligently performed her duties. The child was left unattended during a daytime nap, during which he slipped from a bed on the second floor and became caught by the neck on the bed’s railing. The child died at the scene.

The employee involved had been working unofficially as a teacher at the kindergarten for 120 days starting in May 2023. She was officially appointed as a teacher on September 1, 2024, and since April 2025, she had been working with a group of children under three years old.

According to the ministry, a criminal case has been opened against the woman, and the investigation is ongoing.

It should be recalled that earlier, boiling water was spilled on the waist of a 3-year-old child at Preschool Institution No. 6 in Almalyk city, Tashkent region.
