Previously, it was reported that an Uzbek student girl in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, fell into a coma following a road accident. Social media and various news outlets circulated a video in which her mother claimed that she had approached the Uzbek Embassy for help—but allegedly received none.

In response, the Uzbek Embassy in Bishkek has stated the situation.

According to the Embassy, recent claims that an Uzbek citizen studying stomatology at an international medical university in Kyrgyzstan was involved in a road accident and has been left without assistance, as well as reports of alleged mistreatment of her mother, are inaccurate. Once Embassy staff received information about the accident, they immediately contacted the Kyrgyz Ministry of Health’s leadership, and the matter was placed under special supervision.

The Embassy further clarified, “Currently, the health of the Uzbek citizen is fully under the supervision of local doctors. We assure you that no threats to her or the rights of her family exist.”

The Embassy has maintained direct communication with the victim’s mother and denies any delays or neglect in safeguarding their rights.

Additionally, the Embassy urged Uzbek citizens residing in Kyrgyzstan to adhere strictly to the country’s internal laws, maintain proper order, follow road safety regulations, use designated pedestrian crossings, and comply with other established guidelines. They added that, should any issues arise during their stay in Kyrgyzstan, individuals should immediately contact the Uzbek Embassy in Bishkek or the Uzbek Consulate in Osh.

According to the press service of the Bishkek Main Department of Internal Affairs, the accident occurred on April 2 on Isakeeva Street. At approximately 13:30, a Hyundai Sonata driven by T.A. (born in 1999) struck an Uzbek student girl, G.A. (born in 2000), who was crossing the street.

Following the collision, the injured student was admitted to the resuscitation unit of the National Hospital.

A criminal case has been opened under Article 312 of the Kyrgyz Criminal Code—which addresses the violation of traffic rules by a driver, whether deliberate or through negligence, causing severe harm—to investigate the incident. The driver has been placed in temporary custody.
