The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is divided into two separate ministries in Uzbekistan

The Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and the Minister of Sports Development were appointed in Uzbekistan on 18 February.

According to the recent report, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) held its regular session on 18 February. The MPs considered and approved the candidacy of Aziz Abduhakimov as Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The assembly of MPs then considered and approved the candidature of Adham Ikramov as Minister of Sports Development.

For reference, Adham Ikramov served as Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Healthcare for a while. He was appointed Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 20, 2017.  In 2016, he headed the Fencing Federation of Uzbekistan.

In 2011, Adham Ikramov was awarded the Order of “For Selfless Service” (for his great contribution to the country’s economy and cultural development), and the Order of “Labor Glory” in 2018 (for his effort on economic and cultural development, welfare, peace, and stability) by maintaining peace in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Tourism and Sports was established on 6 April 2021 by the decree of President Shavkat Mirziyoev.
