Today 15 July, the chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan Tanzila Norbayeva met with the president of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymukhamedov, who is in the country on a state visit.
During the conversation, it was noted that the interparliamentary dialogue has become an important part of strengthening the comprehensive cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries. The activities of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups established under the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan and the National Council of Turkmenistan were specially noted.
The results of the first inter-parliamentary forum of the central Asian countries and Russia and the first meeting within the framework of the Women's Dialogue held in Ashgabat this year were highly appreciated. It was agreed to exchange experience in the implementation of national goals and tasks in the field of sustainable development, expand cultural and humanitarian relations, and organize joint activities in all areas of interest to the parties.
At the end of the meeting, the parties noted that they are ready to further strengthen inter-parliamentary relations in the interests of our two brotherly countries and peoples.
It should be reminded that Serdar Berdimuhamedov came to Uzbekistan on a two-day visit.
