Man arrested in Bekabad with nearly 1 kg of hashish

A 35-year-old man was arrested in Bekabad city, Tashkent region, with almost 1 kilogram of hashish, the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the region reported.

As part of the nationwide large-scale operation "Qoradori – 2025," operative officers from the Tashkent regional police department, together with Bekabad city police and the regional State Security Service, conducted an operation resulting in the detention of a Bekabad resident born in 1990.

The man was caught while retrieving nearly 1 kg of hashish hidden in the "Navruz" neighborhood of the city.

Pre-investigation findings revealed that the narcotic substance was smuggled into Uzbekistan by a drug courier from Tajikistan.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under Part 5 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code (Illegal production, acquisition, storage, and trafficking of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances). Investigative measures are ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, two individuals were detained in the Fergana region for selling hashish during the large-scale preventive operation "Safe and Healthy Country."
