4225The President of Kazakhstan, Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, at the residence of the White Horde in Astana. This was reported by local publications.
It was noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing at a high rate. In particular, Tokayev stated that one of the priority tasks is to further strengthen relations between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
The head of state recognized the significant contribution of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the deepening of bilateral relations and expressed that Kazakhstan will continue to support Uzbekistan's initiatives for the welfare of the peoples of the region.
During the meeting, the issues of expanding trade and economic cooperation were discussed, emphasizing the importance of increasing the volume of trade between the two countries.
The President of Kazakhstan drew attention to Uzbekistan's participation in the development of the Trans-Caspian international transport route as mutually beneficial.
At the same time, Tokayev mentioned that the construction of the Kazakhstan Darboza-Maqtaraal railway line has begun, which will later reach the border of Uzbekistan, helping to increase the volume of cargo transportation.
Additionally, issues of cooperation in the field of water management and ensuring regional security in Central Asia were discussed during the conversation.
