Some inspectors are busy lecturing children on “distinguishing between good and bad” – Mirziyoyev

It was found out that most of the neighborhoods with a complex criminal situation in Uzbekistan, included in the “red” category, correspond to Tashkent city, Fergana, Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Namangan regions.  This was announced at the extended board meeting of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Fergana today, July 28, with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

It is noted that in the past six months, the most serious and serious crimes in the neighborhood were committed in Fergana, Tashkent region, Tashkent city, Bukhara, Andijan, Kashkadarya regions.

There were many thefts in Fergana city, hooliganism in Namangan city, bodily injuries in Kokan city, defamation and extortion in Samarkand city, and murders in Mirabad district.

A new system of working with the stratum of the population, which has a high probability of entering the path of crime if the socio-economic problem is not solved, was introduced.  According to him, the population belonging to this category is assigned to the “five neighborhoods” based on the principle of “social prevention”.

“However, the Ministries of Internal Affairs, Poverty Alleviation, and the Family and Women’s Committee did not delve deeply into this issue, they did not develop a methodology or a manual for the “five neighbourhoods”, the report says.

As a result, this new system is working in only 20 out of 9,400 neighborhoods.

“Some preventive inspectors, who do not know what to do, are busy going to kindergartens and lecturing 3-4-year-old children on the distinction between black and white.  The practice of placing preventive inspectors who have been in the system for up to 3 years and are now gaining experience in a crime-heavy neighborhood is still ongoing.  On the contrary, employees with many years of experience are serving in “good” neighborhoods,” says the President.

It was also pointed out to the Minister of Internal Affairs that the selection and placement of personnel was not satisfactory.
