A criminal case was opened against the woman who killed herself and her children by throwing them from the 9th floor

It was reported that a woman threw herself and her three children from the 9th floor in the Sergeli district of Tashkent city.  The Prosecutor General’s Office announced that a criminal case has been initiated in connection with this situation.

According to reports, the operative-investigative group led by the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Tashkent City Prosecutor’s Office inspected the scene and carried out investigations.

It was found that on 3 April at 19:20 p.m., a woman (born in 1996) who lived in an apartment building in the 8th district of Sergeli district, jumped out of a window from the 9th floor in order to intentionally kill her two sons and one daughter.  After throwing them out, she then committed suicide by jumping from the window herself.  As a result, they all died at the scene.

In connection with this situation, a criminal case was initiated under articles 97 (intentional murder) and 103 (suicide).

According to the information received, the deceased woman was living in her mother’s house in Sergeli district 8 with her 3 children and her husband following a fire that occurred in her own apartment in Zangiota district of Tashkent region.  These circumstances, along with all living in the one place had a negative impact on her mental health.  

Also, it was found that the spouse of the deceased is currently in Saudi Arabia for the purpose of Umrah pilgrimage.

“In order to thoroughly investigate all possible causes of this tragedy, the investigative team has developed a number of investigative assumptions.  In particular, family discord, the reasons that led to mental changes observed in the deceased, being suicidal, and all other assumptions will be investigated in detail during the preliminary investigation,” the General Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.
