Schoolchildren are reported to have been taught in the classrom without desks and chairs in Asaka district

A video showing schoolchildren taking part in a lesson without desks and chairs is circulating on social networks.  It is said that the incident happened in the 29th school of the Asaka district of the Andijan region.

In the video, it can be seen that about 15 students are standing and listening to the lesson.  There are only 3 student desks in the classroom, and there are no seats to sit at them either.

The teacher was teaching "Human psychology and personal ethics" to the standing students.

The Department of Public Education of Asaka district reacted to this situation.

It is written in the report that due to the construction and repair work being carried out in the district general education school number 28, some classes of the school were moved to the 3rd floor of the general education school number 29, and the necessary educational equipment for classes was fully secured.

"In the situation spread on social networks, the students of the 28th general education school were videotaped while the process of furnishing this room with desks was occurring. The students were finishing their class with circle exercises, yet it appeared that the room had no equipment." the district public education department said in a statement.

Also, the department added that various messages about education circulating on social media should not be misinterpreted.
