President Erdogan said he was ready to meet with Bashar Assad within the framework of the SCO summit if the Syrian president comes to Samarkand. This is reported by the TASS.

“I would have liked Assad to come to Uzbekistan to meet him, but he cannot come. Syria will be divided because of him and his actions. He fought against the opposition to protect his power. It is a pity that he cannot come to Uzbekistan. I would have met him and said these things to his face» said a journalist quoting Erdogan at a meeting with party members.
