3.3 magnitude earthquake hits Andijan region

On December 21, an earthquake struck the Andijan region of Uzbekistan. The Republican Center for Seismic Prognostic Monitoring under the Emergency Situations Ministry confirmed the occurrence.

The quake was recorded at 08:11 local time, with the epicenter located in Marhamat district, Andijan region. The earthquake’s coordinates are 40.53 degrees north latitude and 72.37 degrees east longitude. It had a magnitude of 3.3 and occurred at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter lies 277 km southeast of Tashkent.

This follows an earlier earthquake in Kyrgyzstan, which was felt in Tashkent. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity in the region.
