A Higher School of Music and Arts named after Sherali Juraev will be established on the basis of the Andijan Art School. In addition, the Sherali Juraev National Singing Competition will be held annually. This was announced on July 28 during a presentation to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding proposals to improve management in the fields of culture, art, and craft development.

The new higher school will include a scientific and creative laboratory, which will curate a “golden archive” of Sherali Juraev’s songs. A modern recording and filming studio will also be built, providing preferential access to talented young artists.

During the presentation, the President issued instructions to gradually incorporate advanced international experience into the field.

As part of these efforts, it is planned to establish a Batyr Zokirov Memorial Museum, introduce a scholarship in his name, and organize an international pop music competition. The most promising bachelor's degree graduates from the institute will be sent abroad for master’s studies, while talented students will be supported in participating in prestigious international competitions.

Furthermore, a symphony orchestra and a national instruments orchestra will be established in the Fergana region. These ensembles will be equipped with musical instruments, professional sound and lighting systems, stage costumes, and other necessary gear.

The presentation also included proposals to further develop traditional crafts.

In particular, an academic platform will be created in Tashkent in collaboration with the British Royal Foundation. It will offer master’s-level education, support research initiatives, and contribute to the development of specialized textbooks. This platform is expected to eventually serve over 3,000 skilled artisans and will later be transformed into a School of Applied Arts.

In 2023, Bukhara was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the category of “Crafts and Folk Art.” Today, 2,000 artisans in 36 specialties are active in the region.

From September to November, Bukhara will host its first Contemporary Art Biennial, featuring 70 renowned artists from 40 countries.

The President emphasized the importance of organizing such large-scale cultural events at a high level, noting that they could provide a significant boost to the development of cultural tourism.

Finally, instructions were given to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of these projects and events.
