Blackmailer man detained in Andijan

A man in the Andijan region was detained for demanding money from a woman he had a romantic relationship with, in exchange for not sharing her photos and videos on social media. This was reported by the regional Department of Internal Affairs press service.

According to the report, a man residing in the Shahrihon district of Andijan had an intimate relationship with a local woman. Later, he demanded money from her, threatening to release their chat history, photos, and videos on social networks if she refused to pay the requested amount.

During an operation carried out by law enforcement officers, the man was detained while receiving the agreed sum of money, with material evidence found in his possession.

A criminal case has been initiated against him by the Investigation Department of the Shahrihon District Department of Internal Affairs under Part 1, Article 165 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, for extortion and for threatening to disclose confidential information and publicly disgrace the woman to force her to hand over her property.

It is worth noting that earlier, a woman in the Bukhara region was detained for demanding 30 thousand dollars from her former lover in exchange for not revealing their past romantic relationship.
