Homemade stove leak leads to carbon monoxide poisoning of a couple in Andijan

3063A couple died of carbon monoxide poisoning in the Asaka district of the Andijan region after coal fuel leaked from a homemade heating stove in their apartment, according to the Asaka district administration.
The duty unit of the Internal Affairs Department reported that on December 7, at around 9:20 am, the bodies of M.A., a citizen born in 1985, and his wife M.A., born in 1986, were discovered with signs of carbon monoxide poisoning in their apartment at the “Uchtosh” residential complex in Asaka district. The poisoning occurred due to a leak from a homemade heating stove using coal fuel.
Members of the investigative-operational group inspected the scene, and a forensic medical examination was ordered to determine the exact cause of the couple's deaths.
The Asaka District Prosecutor's Office is conducting a pre-investigation into this incident.
It is worth noting that on December 15, a bride and groom in the Piskent district of the Tashkent region died of poisoning from an unknown substance.
