Inspector stabbed to death in Andijan; Murderer sought

On July 1, a preventive inspector was fatally stabbed while on duty in the Khojaabad district of Andijan region. This was reported by Shohruh Giyasov, the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, at 20:50, a call was received regarding a domestic disturbance at a house in the “Yuksalish” neighborhood of the Khojaabad district. Regional preventive inspector, Senior Lieutenant Abdurasul Abduvaliyev, responded to the scene along with neighborhood chairman A. Mamataliev.

It was found that 65-year-old citizen Yunusali Tumarovich Kholbazorov was intoxicated and threatening his family members with a kitchen knife. While attempting to neutralize the suspect, Kholbazorov stabbed Senior Lieutenant Abduvaliyev in the chest and fled the scene.

Despite receiving assistance, Abduvaliyev succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2, Article 97, Clause “g” (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The suspect, Yunusali Kholbazorov, is currently evading arrest. Operational search measures are underway to locate and detain him.

“Dear citizens! If you have any information about this individual, please contact the nearest internal affairs office or call the short number 102. The identity of anyone providing information will be kept confidential,” the Ministry’s press secretary said in a statement.

It should be noted that a similar incident previously occurred in Tashkent, where a citizen attacked a law enforcement officer with a knife.
