7-year-old boy falls into 40-meter well in Andijan (video)

On May 16, a 7-year-old boy who fell into a 40-meter-deep well in the Andijan region was successfully rescued. The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the incident.

According to the ministry, the incident occurred at approximately 11:00 a.m. on Maktab Street in the “Ibn Sino” mahalla of Kurgantepa district. The child, identified as the son of the homeowner, fell into a dry and currently unused well located in the yard. The well is 40 meters deep and 90 centimeters in diameter. The accident reportedly occurred due to negligence.

Emergency services were promptly called to the scene. Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived quickly and managed to safely retrieve the boy using specialized equipment. The child is currently in stable condition and was taken to the hospital for a medical examination.

It should be recalled that a similar incident previously occurred in the Olat district of the Bukhara region, where a third-grade student from School No. 28 fell into a well and died. The school guard, who attempted to rescue the student, also fell in and was hospitalized in serious condition.
