A new governor was appointed to the Andijan district.  The former was fired by the President

Bakhtiyor Rustamovich Mamatkarimov was appointed to the post of Andijan district governor.

Mamatkarimov Bakhtiyor was born in 1980 in Korgontepa district.  In 2000, he graduated from the Tashkent Financial Institute, then in 2013 from the Academy of Banking and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan.  In 2021 he graduated from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

He started his career in 2001 as a cashier at the currency exchange branch of the Andijan regional branch of the state joint-stock commercial bank "Asakabank".

From 2003-2020, the credit department specialist of the Andijan region branch of the state joint-stock commercial bank "Asakabank", the head of the foreign exchange and trade operations department, the chief specialist of the credit department, the internal control of the state joint-stock commercial bank "Asakabank" Andijan region branch sector specialist, head of savings operations branch, economist of the Commercial Banks Control Department of the Central Bank of Andijan Region, Economist of the Banks and Non-Banking Credit Organizations Control Department, "Trustbank" Private Open Joint-Stock Exchange Bank, Internal Audit chief specialist of the department, deputy head of the department, head of the department, director of the Internal Audit Department, head of the contract monitoring group of "Neftgazinvest" limited liability company, economic and worked as a deputy for finance.

Before his appointment, he worked as the deputy chairman of the board of the joint-stock company "Uztransgaz" for finance and marketing.

It should be recalled that on 27 September this year, the head of the Presidential Administration, Sardor Umurzakov, announced at a meeting that the governor of the Andijan district, Abdujabbar Ekamberdiyev, had been dismissed.

Earlier, in August, photos showing Abdujabbor Ekamberdiyev recieving citizens while sitting on the sidelines at a race, were published and caused a heated debate.

Umurzokov said that Uzbekistan was humiliated in the eyes of the whole world because of this case.
