The trial for seven individuals detained on charges of violating public order after the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov has been postponed. Originally scheduled for 9:30 AM on January 13, 2025, the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan has moved the hearing to January 23. This information was provided by a correspondent from QALAMPIR.UZ, reporting from the court building.

According to lawyer Davronbek Saidov, who is representing the accused, one of the seven individuals failed to appear in court. As a result, the case was rescheduled to 11:00 AM on January 23, 2025. Saidov also filed a motion to involve the district Internal Affairs Department officer who prepared the administrative offense report, adding that he hopes the case will set a precedent due to the procedural shortcomings revealed during the detention of these citizens. He highlighted particular concerns regarding access to justice, which he argued were exposed during the administrative process.

It is important to note that the Supreme Court’s official website did not list any details regarding the trial of the seven employees involved in the criminal case related to the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov, former head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.

Additionally, the Supreme Court’s open portal shows no hearings scheduled for administrative offenses on January 13.

Earlier reports indicated that a separate trial was underway in the Military Court concerning the criminal case related to the attempted murder of Allamjonov.
