On 22 August, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the United States Congressmen Trent Kelly and Darin LaHood. This was reported by the press secretary of the president’s administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.

The meeting discussed the further development of strategic partnership relations between Uzbekistan and the United States and the expansion of multilateral cooperation.

Particular emphasis is placed on continuing active parliamentary exchanges and practical cooperation with the states of Mississippi and Illinois, which are represented by congressmen.

The meeting was attended by the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov, First Deputy Chairman of the Senate Sodik Safoyev, and US Ambassador to Uzbekistan Daniel Rosenblum.
